National Learn-to-Row Day

National Learn to Row Day - Saturday, June 1

8:00 - 10:00 a.m.

June 1st is the day the US Rowing community opens its doors to share one of the oldest Olympic sports with the world. In this two-hour session, you will get a little bit of everything the sport has to offer: a total-body workout on the "erg" (rowing machine); see the different sizes and types of boats, get your hands on some oars, and completing the experience with you rowing in a boat!

Join us for a busy morning of rowing fun, and test your skills at a new sport. No experience required. Sign up today!

(This event is for rowers 18+ years of age. Thank you!)

Let's Discover Rowing!

Ready, set... ROW! Join us for this rowing "sampler," in just three sessions.

Discover Rowing is comprised of these three sessions:

  • Tuesday, June 4, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

Q&A, class expectations, intro to the boatyard. No rowing tonight.

  • Thursday, June 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

Rowing on the Ergometer! Technique & workout on the rowing machine.

  • Saturday, June 8, 8:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Rowing on the water!

Rowing provides a full-body workout, with aspects of cardio, strength, and endurance training, and you can do it with a boatful of your friends and teammates, or you can row solo. You may never have thought of trying rowing before now; but once you do, you'll wonder why you hadn't thought of it before.

(Please note that participants should have some level of physical fitness before attempting rowing. Activities will involve lifting heavy objects - boats - walking, and squatting. If you are not currently engaged in regular exercise you may want to consider doing so before beginning rowing.)

You're signing up for all three sessions, and they're each different, so you won't want to miss any. Questions? Email
